Could Not Activate Mobile Data Network - Mobile data sometimes doesn't work properly, even when using it has been turned on. Without cellular data, users cannot access anything.
Reported by the Make Tech Easier page, here are three ways to fix mobile data not working on Android:
1. Reset network connection
One of the simplest ways is to enter the SCRTN or a special code to reset the network on the device. For the record, this code will only work for smartphones that use CDMA networks.
For Google Pixel smartphones, users can enter the code *#*#72786#*#*. Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Moto G5 mobile users can use the code #*#*72786#*#*. Meanwhile, for other Android devices, you can use the code ##72786#.
2. Use Airplane Mode
Using airplane mode is worth a try to get a network signal out. Turn on airplane mode and wait 30 seconds then turn off airplane mode.
If the network isn't working yet, turn airplane mode back on, turn off the phone, wait a minute then turn the phone back on, turn off airplane mode and wait for 30 seconds then turn on mobile data.
3. Reset APN
APN or Access Point Names is a tool used by cellular network providers to connect users' smartphones to the internet. It sets up the device with all the important settings like IP address and gateway to make the user's device connect.
Go to Settings > Mobile Data / Wireless Controls / Wireless & Networks > type Mobile Networks > Access Point Names. The user will see a list of APNs. Tap the menu icon at the top right and select Reset to default.
